Monday we went on a class trip to Girona. It was an hour train ride and we were so close to France. Girona is a small town that has a river flowing right through it. It has a nice cathedral and a wall built around part of the city. We spent all day there, and it was a nice break from the craziness of Barcelona. Tuesday we went to the Sagrada Familia or “Holy Family”. It was breathtaking. We ran into the celebrity Ian Somerhalden from Lost/ Vampire Diaries. It was cool since I’ve never seen a celebrity before. We we also able to take an elevator to the top of the Sagrada and walked around. We were lucky because about an hour after we left, someone set a fire in the Crypt of the building. Luckily, there was no damage but it was too close for comfort. Later, we went to another riot which turned ugly in a few hours. Wednesday was our last day in Barcelona. I did a little shopping and headed to the beach for the day. We weren’t allowed to leave our apartment that night because of the violence from the riot. Thursday we woke up around 6:00 am and headed home. It was a long day. I was sad to see the trip come to an end, but had an absolutely amazing time. I know I will never forget it.

Friday we all recovered from our trip to Granada. At night we went to an awesome bar called Dowe Jones. The whole bar has screens set up and the prices of the drinks are on them. At random times in the night the prices will drop and everyone rushes to the bar to get the cheap drinks. There were a lot of American students there, and we met kids from all over. On Saturday, I went back to Sitges with a few girls. We laid on the beach and took pictures for our assignment. After taking the train back to Barcelona, we went to a fountain light show in the downtown area. The fountain water changes colors and follows the music. It was really touristy, but kept my attention. We then went to a night club called Apolo which was all dub step music. We stayed out until 5 am, which is normal for everyone here. We had a blast. Sunday we went to Park Guell and took some pictures. We walked the same runway as Caridee from America’s Next Top Model. That night we had dinner at my professor’s apartment. We got to know him a little better and he told us all of his adventure stories which are unbelievable. I definitely feel that I’ve become closer to him through this trip.
